Happ Is Gone from Google Play (November 2026): What to Do on Android and Android TV

5 min readРусская версия
  • Is Happ gone from Google Play? Yes: on 3 November 2026 its page returns a 404 error in the US, German and Russian stores. The developer calls it temporary.
  • Does an installed Happ still work? Yes, do not uninstall it. Updates will not arrive through Google Play while the page is missing.
  • What to install now? Happ: the file from the developer’s GitHub. For a simple option on a phone or Android TV: the ProxysVPN app from Google Play.

Checked on 3 November 2026. Each fact below says where to look at it yourself.

ProxysVPN is our service, and the app is ours too. The other apps in the comparison are described from public information as of the date this article was updated; whatever we have not checked ourselves is marked as such.

Why the page was taken down is not known for certain. In the same post the developer gives a guess, not a finding: the problem is most likely tied to the company’s D-U-N-S data, where a typo had to be fixed and some of Google’s security checks then fired. We found no statement from Google about this app (web search, 3 November 2026). We do not judge the cause.

Does the Happ you already have keep working

  • Do not uninstall it. The developer says the app keeps working as usual. If you remove it now, there is nothing to get back from Google Play.
  • Your subscription lives with your service, not in Google Play. The link with the servers can be pasted into a fresh install. Make sure you have it saved.
  • Updates will not come through Google Play while the page is missing. The developer suggests taking the latest version from GitHub: the steps are below.

How to tell the real Happ from a look-alike

Happ has no page in the store right now, so anything Google Play shows for “Happ” is a different app. We did not check what is inside them and say nothing about them: we only record that they are not from Happ’s developer.

  • The package id. The real Happ is com.happproxy: that is what must follow id= in the page address.
  • The developer. In Google Play, Happ was listed under Veltrixor LLC (archive copy of 23 October 2026), the same name as in the footer of happ.info. In the App Store, through the link on Happ’s site, the seller is Flyfrog LLC. The company name differs between stores, so compare it with the developer’s website, not with memory.
  • Where the link comes from. Take the address from Happ’s website or its channel, not from store search results, chats or ads.

How to keep Happ: the file from the developer’s GitHub

  1. 1Open the releases page: github.com/Happ-proxy/happ-android/releases. Both happ.info and the developer’s post lead there. The address must start with github.com/Happ-proxy/.
  2. 2Download Happ.apk from the latest release without the Pre-release label (on 3 November 2026 that is 4.9.0 of 22 October). Happ_beta.apk is a trial version and not required.
  3. 3Open the file. Android asks for permission to install from your browser: allow it for this one install, then turn it off again (search the settings for “Install unknown apps”).
  4. 4If Android says “App not installed”, it may be a conflict with the copy from Google Play. We did not check whether this file installs over the store copy. Before removing the old copy, make sure your subscription link or sign-in code is saved. For a general walk-through of installing an app that has left the store, see VPN app gone from Google Play.
  5. 5Check the same page for new versions: from now on you update by hand.
Do not take an APK from chats, file-sharing sites or “download Happ free” pages. Swapping a file is easier than faking a store page.

The project’s description on GitHub also lists “mirrors” on another site. We did not check them and suggest GitHub: the release page shows the version, the date and the account that published it.

Android TV: Happ on a television

Happ cannot be installed from Google Play on a TV right now. The GitHub file is installed from a USB stick or with the free Downloader app from Google Play; the steps are the same as on the ProxysVPN on Android TV page (written there for our file). We found no separate Happ build for televisions from the developer and did not test Happ on a TV; the release notes of 4.9.0 do have a line about input on TV.

The simplest option: the ProxysVPN app for phone and Android TV

ProxysVPN is our app, and it is in Google Play: the ProxysVPN page in Google Play. It installs on a phone and on Android TV, and on a television it opens with the remote. You sign in with a code from your dashboard, so there is no subscription link to copy. The app is built for a ProxysVPN account.

  1. 1Open the app’s page in Google Play (the address must contain id=com.proxysvpn.app) and tap “Install”. On a television, open Google Play and search for ProxysVPN.
  2. 2Get a sign-in code: in your dashboard, open the device card and press “Code for the app”. The eight-character code is valid for 10 minutes and works once. No account yet? Signing up takes a minute with an email address; Telegram is not needed.
  3. 3Open the app, choose sign-in by code and type the code. Android asks for permission to set up a VPN connection: tap “OK”.

No Google Play? The APK file is on our apps page. For a television: installing on Android TV. If Happ works for you, there is nothing to change.

Frequently asked questions

Has Happ been removed from Google Play for good?

Not known. The developer called the unavailability temporary in a post on 2 November 2026 and hopes to bring the app back to the store, but gave no date. We found no confirmation from Google.

Why did Happ disappear from Google Play?

Not known for certain. The developer gives a guess, not a finding: the problem is most likely tied to the company’s D-U-N-S data, where there was a typo. Google has not confirmed this, and we do not judge the cause.

Does Happ keep working if it is already installed?

Yes, by the developer’s account the app keeps working as usual. Do not uninstall it. Updates will not arrive through Google Play while the page is missing.

Where can I download Happ for Android safely?

From the developer’s releases page on GitHub (Happ-proxy/happ-android): the Happ.apk file of the latest release without the Pre-release label. Do not take an APK from chats or “download free” sites.

How do I install Happ on Android TV?

Not from Google Play right now. The GitHub file is installed from a USB stick or with the Downloader app. We found no separate build for televisions from the developer and did not test Happ on a TV.

Should I switch from Happ to ProxysVPN?

No, if Happ works. ProxysVPN is our app: it installs from Google Play on a phone and on Android TV and is built for a ProxysVPN account. It is an option for those who do not want to update a file by hand.
