VPN on Windows 10 and 11: Install ProxysVPN Without Subscription Links or Client Setup

In short: download the ProxysVPN installer for Windows, answer the Windows warning with two clicks, sign in with the eight-character code from your dashboard and press “Turn on”. You do not copy a subscription link and you do not set up a client: the app gets the countries and the way to connect by itself. Below: which file to pick, what to click, and how to pause the VPN or remove the app later.

What you need

To see which processor you have, open Settings → System → About and read the “System type” line: “x64-based processor” means the x64 file, “ARM-based processor” means the arm64 file.

Installing, step by step

1. 1Open the download page and press the Windows button.
2. 2If Microsoft Edge holds the download and offers “Delete”, click the arrow next to that button → “Keep anyway”.
3. 3Run the file. If “Windows protected your PC” appears, click “More info” → “Run anyway”. When Windows asks whether to allow the app to make changes to your device, answer “Yes”.
4. 4Click through the installer. If WebView2 is missing, it installs it by itself.
5. 5Get a sign-in code: in your dashboard, open the device card and press “Code for the app”. The eight-character code is valid for 10 minutes and works once. No account yet? Signing up takes a minute with an email address; Telegram is not needed.
6. 6Open ProxysVPN, choose “Enter a code from the website”, type the code into the “Code for the app” field and press “Connect”.
7. 7On the main screen press “Turn on”. The first row in the country list is WataFast, the automatic mode: it picks the country and the protocol by itself and brings the connection back if it drops.

Why Windows warns you and asks for rights

• The Edge and SmartScreen warnings. The installer is not yet signed with a developer certificate, so Windows does not know it. That does not mean the file is dangerous, but download it only from the download page on our site.
• Administrator rights at every launch. A VPN for the whole computer is a separate network adapter, and Windows lets only programs with administrator rights create one. So the “Allow…” question appears at every launch: answer “Yes”.
• To confirm the file has not been replaced, compare its SHA-256 sum: the sums of all installers are published on the release page on GitHub. The PowerShell command is below; its answer must match the line for your file.

The tray: pause, quit, window

The ProxysVPN icon sits by the clock, in the tray. A right-click opens its menu:

• “Turn protection on” and “Turn protection off” — without opening the window;
• “Pause for 5 minutes”, “15 minutes” and “1 hour” — for when a site or a game asks you to switch the VPN off: when the pause ends, protection turns on by itself;
• “Open window” and “Quit”. Closing the window with the cross does not switch the VPN off: it keeps running from the tray.

Updates and removal

• Updates. The app announces a new version itself (“Version … is out”) and installs it from there. You do not download a new installer from the site.
• Removal. Settings → Apps → ProxysVPN → “Uninstall”. The settings and the log stay in the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\ProxysVPN; delete it if you want everything gone.
• The device in the dashboard stays on your list after the app is removed, and keeps being charged, until you delete it in the dashboard.

What it costs

The app itself is free; what you pay for is the subscription: $1.50 per device per month, taken from your balance, with nothing charged to your card automatically. Top-ups start at $5. An account opened on the Russian site is priced in roubles instead: an account keeps the currency it was opened in, whatever card tops it up. A computer is a separate device in the dashboard, with its own code.
